Conrice's 954 FIGHTER build thread
My welder hit some bad luck on a couple of fronts (the wrong collector was shipped to him, family health problems, etc), he has had the bike for the last month or so, but he's assured me that at the beginning of next week, I can pick it up.
so, once I get it back, its essentially done except for paint and wiring.
Also, I ordered a Daytona Asura gauge.

So that's here, and waiting to go on.
After I get the bike back, I'll definitely post some pics. I'm getting anxious to get it done.

Yes sir lookin good. What have you decided about for the paint work on the frame and etc.? Do you think you will get to ride this bike this season or do you have plans for the beginning of next season for this bike. Do you still have the Repsol? You exhaust is similar to what I want to do on my bike. Keep up the good work sir.
I sold the Repsol a long time ago. But it was totaled a few months back by a negligent driver (rider is okay, now).
I actually have a trip on this bike planned for this fall in NC, which means I have to be comfortable riding it by then. I checked my new wiring harness on it this morning, those bugs from the last harness aren't present anymore.
I also have the rest of the hard parts I need for it...
...so as I've said way too many times proir , it shouldn't be too much longer!

About daym time you got crackin with it! Trust me the thought of it getting near finished is at the same time the best motivator as well as the worst DEmotivator at the same time. The tedious last bits are what kills you...
Yeah, seeing it in the garage and sitting on it is pretty good motivation.
I have two tanks for it, so while Tank A is getting painted (along with everything else), I could still take it to get tuned utilizing Tank B since the tuner I've talked to is in another town.
As far as the frame, I had heard about this before, but sort of turned my nose up at the idea - appliance paint. That is, until I saw it in person on an older cafe that pulled into my shop one day.... I thought the thing was PC'd, and he told me it was Generic branded appliance paint. It looked great and he said he painted it a couple of years ago, no real prep, or anything.
So I'm going to try that, I think. I don't have the money nor time for PC.
I need to solder some connections for the wiring harness and then it should be ready to fire up. I'll throw up a video of it once I do, too.

So, the tank still didn't fit perfectly, and I could feel by moving it around, that it was getting caught up on the edges of the air box/secondary fuel rail.
So, after some heat and pissing of the neighbors....

Now it fits perfect on there. I knew it wouldn't take much since it was close, but it was off by just enough that it would drive me nuts.
I also wired up most of the stuff, just a little bit more to go until it can fire up.
All that's left is the neutral sensor, clutch switch, oil pressure switch, stator, lights, and the gauge.
