.....jk lolWow! Actually, it looks like it might not be open. That is a bit of a bummer, but there is MUCH awesome riding in the area to be done not on The gap. I know some of the guys who are going haven't been to the area before, so I wanted to mention that...lots of great roads.
That said, I suppose it would be appropriate to ask if people would rather go elsewhere. Personally, I'm still100% for doing the trip as-is even taking a chance that they won't re-open the road. What do you guys think?

I am still in. In for a penny, in for a pound. I think the whole is idea is pretty cool. Be pretty neat to see yal on the skyway instead of the 'skype'way

Ya, let's just do it anyway. I think there's a decent chance it will be open, plus there is up-side to it if it's closed. Less chance of Imperial entanglement (if you catch my drift), less overall traffic, etc. I am very familiar with the roads in the area, so I am confident that we can have a ball even if it's closed. Hell, NC28 that leads up to the Deal's gap resort is an awesome road.

Ya, I'm thinking that one fun destination might be to go to Two Wheels Only in Suches, GA on Saturday evening for dinner. They whip up some great grub over there, it's only like 75 miles from where we're camping, and the roads are all great.
I'll try to have a plan for most of the time in case some folks would like some guidance. I know some/all might not, but just in case...

The group rides together will be great on any of the roads down there. The Skyway is a favorite of mine, maybe even over the dragon, if I had to pick. So yeah Doc, I'll be happy to follow your lead and discover even more of the amazing asphalt in the Smokys. I'ts all good!
