Great Race from Assen. Amazing that Lorenzo could ride to 5th right after breaking a collar bone and limiting Pedrosa's point gain. Sweet to see Rossi strong all race and get that 80th win. I was really hoping Crutchlow would pass Marquez but maybe if he had a couple more laps. Incredible how good that Tech 3 bike is with Crutchlow aboard. Pedrosa seemed very subdued all weekend.

My initial reaction to looking at the qualifying times was 'where's Dovi?' I thought he might have crashed out during practice but then I got low enough on the list to see his name. I sure hope they get that Ducati working eventually.

i think crutchlow is one of the best riders in gp at the moment.

that duc is having issues for sure. they knew assen would be tough though, so we'll see what happens at the sachsenring. i know nicky loves that track. don't know about dovi

so, did anyone see that the claiming engine rule is out for CRTs running magnetti marelli software immediately, then in 2014, it's dropped all together (because they'll all be running that software?)

so what's this mean, exactly?

I was curious about the new rules too although I don't know exactly how it affects things.

Ducati commented on the new rules...

“Since the new rules came out for next year, where it is actually possible for a full MotoGP bike to run in what would have been the CRT class – using the single ECU and single software – we are considering to make available the 2013 bike with this package,”

and...

“It has an advantage in terms of fuel; they will have 24 litres while the full MSMA MotoGP entries will have only 20, 12 engines instead of five and no frozen development for the engines."

With the additional fuel advantages of that option it seems to me that bikes running that option will be quite competitive.

A funny coincidence in the stats after Rossi's win at Assen....

"Ironically, Rossi’s victory at Assen came in the 46th MotoGP™ race to have taken place since his last win at Sepang in 2010, while he has now scored a career total of 4,646 points. A pair of coincidences indeed."

I thought the Sachsenring turned out a good race. Another top performance from Crutchlow. Someone has to give him a factory ride after the results he has put in over the last two years.

It's going to be hard keeping up with Marquez if the other top riders are not 100% healthy. Talk about making an impact in your rookie season!

Everyone seems to get on really well in the MotoGP class these days. Lots of joking and laughing in park ferme. Even fighting for the championship, Pedrosa and Lorenzo seem remarkably friendly. I wonder when the next big rivalry will develop?
