Default What about the shinko 005

Guys I'am getting ready to purchase some new tires for my 900 and I was wondering if anybody has tryed the shinko tires that sell for under $200.00 through ebay stores. I'm trying to save some money but don't want to compromise. I also see the metzler at a very good prize. Thanks Johnny

I think Shinkos are dragradials if that's what you're looking for. I hear you can still get Dunlop 208 for like $210-$225 for a pair.

I use them for drag racing. Very good tire. Hold up very well. They just take a very small burnout and there good and warm. Firm tire.

No clue how they do in the twisties or at a race track.

There's two compounds a 003 which is for drag racing and a 005 which is suppose to last longer. I've seen the feedback and everybody is happy but the feedback is not after using it. They sell for $175.00 for a 190/50/17 and a 120/70/17 with free shipping anywhere in the U.S. Johnny

I have a new set of shinko advance radials for my 05 f3. They are pretty good in the twisties, and warm up fast. I think you can get a set online for 200-250.

I never even heard of the damn things until I talked to some guy at Mid-Ohio. He has an '05 ZX-10, said he had the Q's and the PP's...said the Shinko's would blow em both away...IDK about that! lol I mean, I'm not saying the Shinko's aren't a good tire, I'm saying that the Q's and PP's are very, very hard to beat.

This tires do hook really nice, but the real test is going to be how many miles I can go on them. But I agree about the other brands. They are hard to beat. I asked the salesman if they would go 10,000 miles and he said they would, thats how many miles I got out of my michelins. Thanks for your feedback. Johnny

I have the 005s on my f4i were put on at 11,000 miles and made it to 14,000 before winter set in. they back has significant wear and will have no tread in middle in another 2-3000 miles, fronts still very symetrical and have much tread. I have no track days, but do however ride the streets very hard. in all was pleased with the way these held up, for the price. one last note after putting a little over three thousand miles on them do notice a significant decline in grip.
