Default Shinko 005's

Anyone have any experience usingShinko 005'son CBR's? I originally bought my bike with a new one on the back, and I'm due for a front one. I cant figure out whether to replace them both with somethingfrom the top 4 brandsor just match up the front one with a new Shinko.

I have reviewed it around the forum, but I get mixed thoughts from riders from good to bad. Figured I'd ask in here........

Hey Idodirt, were you affected by the power outages down your way yesterday?

Not me personally. At work, the power blinked, but that was all. I was a part of the lucky ones.

Here are a lot of opinions about Shinko tyres. Some are happy with them, others hate them whether they have tested them or not. Personally I would go on using the rear until it is down andbuy a (supposedly) better front tyre. There is nobig reason to match the rear tyre with another Shinko, unless you feel you reallylike the Shinko front. The other brandsgrippy front tyres will glue to ground independent of what's on the rear.

We have them here - I wouldn't TOUCH them on a Hurricane...........OK for older, slower bikes.

Thanks for the input guys, I'll think i'll take R1000's advise and ride it out on the back. I'm thinking of going with Pilots so I'll replace the front with that and replace the rear Shinko with a new Pilot later. Is the rule of thumb that you get twice as much milage out of the front as you would on the rear under normal driving ? Or do they generally wear out around the same time. On my nighthawk, I would have to replace the rear twice as often as the front.

Generally, people seem to get twice as many miles out of a front tyre as they do from a rear.....
I'm a bit **** about scalloping on my front tyres, and change them both together, as I feel the handling suffers badly enough to warrant it. I find when the front tyre is scalloped, the bike won't hold its line in corners properly and at low speed the front end wallows around .
What experiences do the rest of the guys have on this ?
