Teknic Modular Tank bag

I got it for a$40 from Newenough.com
Only problem I'm having with it are the straps that are depicted in the above photo that goes under the tank are in the way because I'm using the magnets. I want to be able to remove the bag (gotta refuel) so I can take the bag with me when I park at work.
Anyone have any suggestions on dealing with the straps (besides cutting them off)?
