Default Modular helmets?

I got this modular helmet I've had for like 5 Years. It's branded under Harley davidson. I can't remeber the company who it's made by, kbc or hjc I think... Just wondering how well they compare to a regular full face. Seems like the flip up part would just shatter in an impact since it's plastic. I dunno if it's reinforced mabey.

That was sort of my opinion when I was looking at helmets...when I was looking at my first one I didn't like having one built in fail point if I get hit in the front of it - its made to fold. I have a full face just for that reason.

My son worked for Harley - his local dealer network returned all those flip-face helmets, because a sharp blow on the sides causes the face section to pop off.
You may want to consider a proper full face - the one you have will be useless in an accident, IMO.

If you buy a flip-up type "full-face" helmet, just do so w/ the understanding that the only thing that flip-up part will protect you from is bugs.

I love mine. And they offer way more protection than those skull caps people think are helmets.

I had an afx modular. the lid is pretty secure cause it uses metal claps to keep the front from moving in an impact. The only thing I didn'tnlike it about it was that it was heavy compared to my HJC and loud at highwayy speed
