They actually rode yours during the inspection? Last month I took my 1000RR to a primarily Harley dealer and had it inspected. I figured that they would at least not give me a hassle about the aftermarket exhaust, which is louder than stock. They barely gave it the once over and no one rode it. They probably wanted me and my sport bike out of there ASAP.
Anyway, it passed inspection and I will probably go back there again if they'll shuttle me through like that every time.

And when he came back towards the garage I was wincing visibly thinking "If they wreck my baby, they don't have anything to replace her"

That's bullsh!t. As soon as he would have stepped off my bike, he would have had broken teeth. When my bike got inspected, they literally walked around the bike, turned on the blinkers and flashed the brake lights... And then gave me the sticker. That was that. You should complain to somebody bro

(1) The vehicle is not capable of stopping within the maximum stopping distance prescribed in Table I (relating to brake performance).
(2) There is a malfunction of the braking or steering mechanism—particularly shimmy, wander and pull—or another questionable operating behavior that affects safe operation of vehicle.
(3) The speedometer does not operate.
(4) The odometer does not operate except on motorcycles at least 25 years old.
(5) The vehicle cannot be driven forward.
I guess the engine rev was for emissions or sound.

so the road test is nessesary... still seems that they should show a little respect for your bike and you ... altho this sound like what we all go thru at the DMV ... id rather be beaten with a big stick than have to deal with the DMV....thank GOD we dont have emmisions testing anymore...now that was a joke...

I've never had an inspector do a road test on any of my bikes. Interesting to know... lol..
I don't even want to get into that. I hate the DMV, and feel like I could have an aneurysm just talking about it....
