Unknown Honda ?
So i went to go register my 2001 Honda CBR600F4i under my name today and one of the persons at the counter brought something to my attention. On the ownership under make it says "ARTI" and not "Honda" as well as the model it says "ART" not F4i ?. The person at the counter says it might of been imported from the states or something I have no idea now if my bike was stolen, got into an accident or the motor was replaced. If anyone has any idea why it would say this on the ownership it would be greatly appreciated and would calm my nerves.
Thanks

First, Does the VIN on your bike match the VIN on the title?
The only info I can find is that the NCIC (national crime information center) Lists the code ARTI as being for a vehicle of some kind from the manufacturer "Artie".
Also, a list of abbreviations shows ARTI as "Artie [NCIC motorcycle make code]".
If the VIN on your bike matches the VIN on the title take both to the DMV and ask what the hell is going on. They should be able to look up past titles on the bike and you can find out when the info changed.

thats weird i had a similar problem, the first title i was sent for my bike had the correct vin but the model was for a an atv, called sent it back got another title and it had the correct make and vin but said the color was red and my bike is black and silver so had to send it in again and they finally got it correct, makes it even worse that the bike was brand new off the show room floor i am first owner so hmmm honda's office staff needs to let the bong smoke clear out of their melons for awhile lol, but anyways that might be some sort of code for a rebuild/salavage title, have to find the previous owner or place of purchase and have them look into it as well.
