*shakes head* I am so sorry to have to relay this to our friends outside the U.S., but American car manufacturers could not care less about A--the 'units' they sell, B--the customers that give them their business, and C--anything but quarterly reports. Toyota would consider an 'out of warranty' request--and honor it--because they have more than one idea about how to build something that makes people confident in their purchase--that's why they're the most cash-rich car company in the world, outselling all others.

Okay, now who do I bill this advertisement to?

Have to go a spirit on this one. Not necessarily Toyota, but Japanese. Swt poet has got a Q45 Infiniti a 2002 which she bought new yes, a college education does pay off. And it's paid off anyway. It has a 147,000 miles on it roughly that what happens when you get bumped from duty station to duty station. The whole traction control system, which also operates the antilock brakes went out about two months ago with the above mileage. The local Infiniti dealer fixed it for the cost of the sensor. $72 said that they had something called a technical bulletin, which wasn't a recall. But if they came in with this problem to replace it and Bill Infiniti for the labor on any car that wasn't still under factory warranty

Sounds like it was a "TSB". (stands for Technical Service Bullitin) Alot of times, tsb's stem from actual mechanics in the field who observe a problem that they see frequently, and have figured out the "quick diagnosis" way to track the problem down. Most of the time (in the case of dealerships) if one of these exist and has been proven to a great extent, the manufacturer will step in and "help out", since it's a re-occuring problem. Well... they do when they care about the customers they sell too and it isn't a huge monetary cost, like in this case. I'm glad they treated her well!

They should have gave you a warranty adjustment on it were they pay like half the cost or even more. I would have taken it to a differant dealership myself.
