That'll piss ya off....
Sorry to hear about the truck TEN. That would definately **** me off. That's a purdy truck too! Maybe you could call GM/the shop, whoever and tell them that you've tried numerous times to tell someone that you were having problems with the water pump/cooling system, etc., a few months ago but they just said that it's nothing to worry about, yada yada...Like, "If they'd of listened to me back then and fixed it I wouldn't have this problem!", then maybe GM will fix it or something. Hopefully you get everything taken care of. Good luck!
ORIGINAL: TEN
So I come home the other day and notice that my truck...yep, the big one over there in the picture...is leaking antifreeze like its a friggin sport. [:@]. I take it to the stealership to get it fixed thinking, "no big deal, it's under warranty...right?". Nope. The truck only has 30K-ish miles on it and seems a bit early for stuff to start breaking on it. Sure enough, water pump needs to be replaced and the warranty ran out 2 months ago. What???? "That will cost you around $675.00." What??? That drives me crazy....they can make a car that can navigate itself, talk to you, figure out if the tires are low, cook breakfast, give you a hand job and f'n parallel park itself, but they can't make a vehicle that will stay together 2 months after the bulls*t factory warranty expires? WTF?
Now that'll **** ya off...

my trailblazer IS NOT EVEN OUT OF WARRANTY but i had to pay to replace both my front wheel bearings because according to the dealer AND the "regional customer relations mgr." putting 20x12's voided the company's responsibility to "warranty" their parts? f those guys...
You put 20's on your truck? And you're surprised that it voided your warranty?
Thug wheels are for thugs to put on cheap *** rides and cheaper paint jobs. If you're putting bling on bling you better have some bling to pay for it... all.

Haha...nah not thug stuff. Just enough to make it a bit taller. lil bit bigger. 35" x 12.5"Toyo Open country MTs on 18" Incubus rims. 6" lift. Nothing too much. It's plenty big though.
I'm a GM fan (when it comes to "American" brands... I hate ford. 6 years of mechanic experience talking here). But still, honestly, screw them and their $675 bucks. Replacing a water pump on that thing really isn't that hard. Remove the fans (or fan housing plus mechanical fan is it's not the electrical kind), take your serpentine belt off (a little arm work if you don't have a good tool for it, but possible), take the pully off (4 bolts) then take the water pump bolts out (should be like... 8 if I remember right), the it should come off. Might have to pry it a little since it'll be stuck on via the gasket material. (if there's any antifreeze left it'll pour out all over the place here)
After that, scrape the old gasket off the engine (scraping tool or buffing wheel with "soft" buffing pads work fine), get you a new water pump from your local parts store (O'Reily's, Autozone, Advanced Auto Parts, NAPA, whatever)... that should run you like, $150-250 bucks. Dry off everything, use a little gasket maker (cheap, also found at the parts store, and don't use too much here, you just need a little) to stick the gasket to the new water pump, put it in place, and reverse your removal procedure. You should have a bleeder screw on top of the thermostat housing, just crack that baby open as you fill up the radiator with your 50/50 mix then fire the truck up and let it warm up. It'll eventually start spitting fluid out the bleeder, keep topping off the radiator fluid (careful, it gets hot and you've got moving parts in there) until the bleeder spews a steady stream, then close it off (don't tighten too much our you'll break the bleeder off and it'll be stuck closed), finish topping off the tank and the reservoir (I think the new chevy's are all in one as a pressurized resevoir unit) and tada! You're done for at least HALF the price.

I say like the rest ask someone higher up nicely. It can not hurt but depending on your trips to the dealership(service work) they probally wont touch it(the way other car makers work).Worked for gm many years ago.
But like spirit said toyota would take care of it..I have been with them for over 16 years..Seen them "goodwill" stuff 30~40 THOUSAND miles out of warrenty..
Hell they had a issue with a few trannies in 99~00 sienna vans so they extended the warrenty on all of them for 8 years or 100k..Had one in the shop yesterday out by time and mileage..Toyota still gave them tranny free..
Im brand loyal to a point. But i still enjoy my fords and my honda
