I despise deer because I've had a few close calls with them. The worst was commuting home from work last summer at 11pm. I came over a hill to find one taking up most of the right side of the lane and one on the center line. I got on the brakes the best I could but passed between the deer. I was bracing to hit them and still don't know how I didn't. I swear the one on the right side was close enough to touch. I got a little revenge this past hunting season at least

 

I was riding into a little town late at night just as someone was driving out. Apparently the car exiting the town was more interesting to the cat in the ditch. As soon as the car passed the cat darted out to cross the highway, right into my path of travel. I hit it square on SMACK! It sort of felt like a pothole the way the front suspension bottomed out. Poor flat cat...never had a chance.

 

Thrasher's story is the best

 

1. lowsided my f3 in '98 going around a 20mph turn at about 40. needed a new front tire. minimal damage to the bike and only a little rash on my hand.

2. looped my first 9. bruised my *** and heal, as well as some rash. RIP '99 9

3. endoed the one I have now in Charlotte traffic when someone slammed on brakes in front of me. my fault. i glanced off my path for a second. much damage to the bike but the cost of repairs was still less than what full coverage insurance costs.
