Default Gixxer 750... Close close close...

Buddy of mine picked up a 2005 Gixxer 750 today... He was all anxious to run it against "the baddest 600 on the market" seein as how he couldn't hang with the 1000's in our group... Well, up to 95 mph it was a hella close race with our shifting being about 1/2 a second apart.. Bout the time I started closin the gap we had to lay off of it when we came into some thicker traffic... For havin 150 extra cc's on me and him weighing about the same as me, I was suprized I kept up like I did... Any of you eaten any Gixxer 750's??

That's a cool bit of information. I really wish some magazine would do a write up of the CBR600RR versus the gixxer 750.

a buddy of my have the k6 750 gixxer and I have the 07 cbr600rr and we went to the dyno on the same day for a tuning and I was putting down 103.7 hp after the tuning and the gixxer 750 was putting down
129.3 hp at the wheel and that quite a difference and it is a noticeable difference when we are playing around on the back roads of little rock, ar. It is close through the 1/8th with the 750 with a bike and a half and stretches to 2 bike lengths by the end of the quarter. top end is not even close. during athree mile run I am about ten or so bike lengths back. Those gixxer 750's are the reason everyone else has gotten out of the game. I bet if there were still a 750 class we would see an even meaner 750 gixxer. Like the busa when you don't have any real competition you don't have much to shoot for.

keep up with the street racing *****...

you're -1 on the RR, you will be able to keep up with the gixxer.

stock for stock...though...not so good on the RR.

i'm sure it was awesome...CHUMP!!!!!!!

i'll get my trackday in sometime...whenever money starts falling into mah hands...i just need tires and a track ticket! i will sleep on the road and hitchhike with my bike all the way there to cut other costs.

it's not really that close stock for stock...and know that it was an 02 gixxer against an 07 RR with -1 up front. you lay a new one down and the outcome will not be the same....heck i raced an 02 back in the day with my f4i f/s custom map and -1 and we were neck and neck.

I read the article on Motorcyclist today...
they tested 1098, 07 600RR, 07 R1, 07 Gixxer 1k and 07 ZX6-R...at the same time...
Both street and track...07 600RR had the best lap time 2:01 @ Thunderhill Raceway andmajority picked 07 600RR for back road riding...
now anymore question?...
no doubt the new 600RR is the best...
