Default Superbike School!!!!!

Just signed up (again) for the California Superbike School.........and this time........it's in LAGUNA SECA!

It in November (so plenty of time to prepare at the local track)......and not to mention.....IT'S LAGUNA SECA!!!!

I'm still debating whether or not to pay $650 to use their bikes........or to pay $450 and use my own. I would LOVE to take mine, but it's a 2 day trip from me.........and I don't want to get there and be all fatigued on the class day. (So, I'm thinking of trailering my bike out there). I'm thinking that even if I do pay the $650, they'll still let me ride at least a couple of laps on my bike. (which would be sick).

Needless to say, I'm getting FREAKING excited already (and it's not till NOVEMBER!) Well, something to look forward to I guess.

Oh yeah, here's the link: http://www.superbikeschool.com

keep in mind that Laguna requires you to use a stock exhaust

That is definitely one of the things we all hope to do someday. According to the last thread posted about using your bike or renting during a track day, all the track guys said to use YOUR bike. All the street guys, especially me, seemed to be chicked to ride their bike. After consideration, I think I would use my bike. Nothing like experience gained on YOUR baby.

the context for that discussion was a little different, I believe we were talking about a trackday then and not a school
I'd suggest using one of their bikes for a school. Trackdays you have plenty of time to deal with any problems that come up but at a school you rarely have any spare time, they'll make sure the tires (and tire pressures) are good, the bike is set up well, no mechanical problems and if you crash or have a mechanical issue they can usually put you on another bike rather than you having to miss track or instruction time to fix things

plus at a school you shouldn't be worrying about how your bike works around a track as much as how YOU work around a track. They are trying to teach you things that you can carry to any motorcycle or any track.

You guys in California are lucky in that sense.

I can only dream of paying a few hundred bucks and riding at Laguna.

Envious...

+1 lucky *****. I think I would take a couple years of the back end of my life to ride Laguna.

Yep, those lucky people in Cali only have a short distance ride to get there......too bad I live a 2-days trip away. For a superbike class and being at Laguna Seca ALL day with proper instruction, recorded lap times and professional photo's taken during runs........I find it WELL worth it.

I'm definately going to use their bikes though. I'm using their brakes, their tires, their suspension setup, etc. If I wreck my bike, insurance doesn't cover it. (you void your insurance being on a track.....unless you have special insurance.). If I wreck their bike, it's a $750 deposit I loose, which is much cheaper than wrecking my own.

I'll probably still trailer my bike out there, and see if I can get them to let me on the track for at least a couple laps......(and have pictures taken of course )
