Stupid insurance question
If you have comprehensive insurance on your bike and you get in an accident that involves only you (as in you just laid the bike down without hitting another car/person) your insurance company will pay for the repairs to get the bike running again? Will they go as far as buy you new plastics to make it look good too?
Just wondering since I am on the fence about whether to go for the comprehensive on my $3,000 bike.

I'll give you my opinion -
You are a retard to get comprehensive on vehicles in that dollar range. For one thing after you pay the deductible, and the added amount of the premiums each month, and the added amount you will pay every month for the rest of your life if you make a claim it isn't even close to worth the amount of the bike.
Also you never know what hobbies in life you will get into and some of them might be hard to insure - for example I wouldn't be able to insure my boat for what I do without having a totally clean record with no claims history. It makes my boat about $1000/yr as opposed to several thousand a year.
My wife backed into someone in my truck about a year ago, and we just paid it out of pocket because it was cheaper than paying what the increase in premiums would have cost us....
