So I was packing up to goto Maryland tomorrow for a week, my brothers 40th b-day (surprise) and guess what my dog did? Killed a SKUNK! And holy hell, that is a powerful smell. So I got to wash her in vinegar & hose her off 5-6 times then shampoo her a couple times at 10pm instead of getting some rest. At least it was only face/neck but damn, I don't want to do that again. ****in Malamute is a killer, gets everything that comes into the yard, but none of the other dead animals had anything on the smell of a skunk, then I had to toss it over the fence! So finally going to bed, after I showered twice myself. Laterz!

Been there and done that. Tomato juice works quite well also if you have any lingering smell. Have a safe drive tomorrow.

 

did the tomato juice before on another dog, but the vinegar actually worked great, can't smell it on her but still, she's outside for the night. She kills everything, ground hogs, possoms, but her fav is birds, jumps right up and grabs 'em, or sneaks up to a bush they are resting in a goes up from the bottom and takes them out that way. Usually I don't care, but this one stinks, lol. now it's 1am, night!

 

If it is still lingering, brush Baking Soda through her coat. Don;t even have to wet her down. sprinkle on and brush away. I'm surprised she didn;t get sick. that stuff is infact poicon, if she ingested it, it could have been bad.
