Running 20mph isnt bad and it is possible !!!!!!! Not good enough to get into the Olympics but fast. If you can run a 100 meter dash in 11 seconds you run 20 mph !!!!! At 9.89 secs you will travel at 22.5 mph. 2 1/2 mph dont seem like much but an 11 sec finish compared to a 9.89 finish is a life time. I ran 11 seconds all day in high school. Im sure this guy could do it.

Did I say that he couldnt do it? I said there is no way in hells that a NFL runningback could run 25 MPH when the fastest guy in the world runs 23 MPH

Ive worn a jacket every time i went on a ride except for one... it feels weird to ride with it off, and the handlebars feel like death with gloves off... I guess for me its the same concept as riding the dirtbike or atv with out a helmet, all the noise of the engine gets to me and sounds weird as compared to when i ride with a helmet that muffles the sound. wear gear...i understand for the people that live in warm climates...but really it only takes ten seconds to put on a jacket and zip it

when i go on a planned ride, i wear jacket, gloves, jeans, etc. since helmets are not required here, i may...or may not wear one, depending on my mood and my plans. if i don't wear the helmet, i always have riding glasses.
i am guilty of riding in shorts. i am well aware of the dangers...i am a grown up boy, but sometimes i have to take a quick trip, and a complete change of clothes is just out of the question.
for what it is worth, my definition of SQUID also includes sandals instead of shoes. sadly, i have seen that quite a bit.
and mine is bigger, but i don't remember what it is for.....

Just wanted to say this caught my eye. Running backs can go nowhere near 25 miles per hour the fastest man in the world Usain Bolt ran a 9.69 secons 100 meter at the 2008 Olympics which would be around 23 MPH

I just a did a estimate hence 20-25 mph. I don't know excatly but what I do know is your in the wrong for saying that somebody isn't capable of myself.
So running 20mph with shorts on is just as bad as riding a bike at 20mph? I have no helmet when running yet when I ride a bike. I think people need to look outside the box before pointing fingers what's a squid or not. This thread was to open more people's mind's up. Like a previous post "I am a big boy ill decided what to wear" is about the best that sums it up.

I don't really think we all gear up for the 20/25 MPH fall off.
How many of you ride your bikes at that speed anyway................? I don't
To me a SQUID is someone who
Doesn't know, or doesn't care, or just wants to impress others when it comes to bikes and safety. In a word - SHOWOFF !!

when im going less than 5 miles away or somewhere very short distance, im not gonna lie, im guilty of wearing shorts, tshirts etc. theres times i even take my bike when i go to the gym and all i year is bball shorts and a sleveless shirt...
but i agree with shadow, the definition of a squid is someone who likes to show off by wearing close to nothing going riding.
