oh yeah i know i was just saying....thats where the fun stories start. Ive got another good story thats borderline. It doesnt involve running from the cops or being pulled over, just a close encounter with one, some bad decisions, and some interrogation while driving.

Radar/Laser can easily tell them how fast you're coming at them, even if they're moving.

My only cop story (knock on wood) was for having a blue LED that was my license plate light. In Louisiana Red or Blue lighting is illegal on the front or rear of a non-emergency vehicle while underway. I knew this already, but it really didn't look all that blue at a distance, and that was all I had when I was putting the bike back together. I played stupid and he let me go with a "get it swapped out soon".

I have several friends on the various local PD/Sheriff/State troopers - I make sure I have all their numbers in my cell phone - but the best cop friends you can make are the dispatchers. They are the ones that will hear your name come across the radio and can step in to help a brotha out.

i think ive got this....

so my two friends came up to visit me at school two years ago (syracuse). My friend would always host parties downtown at this club on thursdays and wed go to that even though we were only 20 at the time cuz the bouncers just didnt care as long as you showed them some type of id and/or gave them $10. My friends were 21 though so it didnt matter anyway. Sooo we go there and the one bartender loved me since im always a big tipper and im there every week and talk to them and stuff. So the three of us would go up to the bar and shed make us 9 rum and cokes at a time....errrr water and cokes....and yes 9 at a time. Sooo we were drinking that all night and pounding them in the stupid little vip section and literally had a table completely covered in empty cups just from the three of us so we were pretty drunk.

Sooo its time to leave and 6 of us pile into his little jeep wrangler...bad decision number 1....and start to drive home. A cop gets behind us and my friend starts making random turns to see if the cops just cruising around or is actually following us and sure enough hes following us.

We pull into some random parking lot without looking around and park and get out of the car and start to walk away. The cop doesnt follow and just keeps going on down the road. We wait 5 minutes and think were ok sooo we look around and realize theres only 3 of us not the original 6. This kid and this girl are gone and its just me and my one friend from school and my one friend from home and were like where the hell is spanky? (the second kid from home that was visiting). We go back to the car and see my friend is passed out in the back sleep and is snoring so we laugh and were like screw it lets get out of here.

I tell my friend ill drive since i know the area and can get us back home quickly without having to give him directions and stuff and i didnt want him to get a dui while he was visiting me so i figured id bite the bullet for him if i had to(cant say im not a good friend). So we go to pull out of the parking lot and were still missing the one kid and this girl but we didnt care hed be fine, and as i go to pull out sure enough the same cop comes down the street and pulls in and stops next to me and puts his window down.

He asked me what i was doing and i was like ohhhh were coming from that club and my friends are here from home and i was just dropping my other friend off here now were going back. He kept asking me "what are you doing here?" and i was like wtf is his deal ive told him 5 times what im doing why is he asking me still...so i stick my head out and look around and realize were in the projects and it clicks...im like OOOHHH!!! no no no no its not what it looks like were not getting drugs im really just dropping my friend off. So he asked who the big kid in the back seat was and i was like its my friend from home hes sleeping. He asked if i was drinking and i was like no i didnt drink since i was driving and just wanted to show my friends a good time. He kept asking me if i was drunk and i kept telling him no and he said he was gonna get another car down here to breathalyze me and i was like you can if you want to but i really havent drank tonight. So finally he let me leave and we made it back alright. Apparently the kid and the girl ran home like the two miles it was back to their apartment for some reason. That was a close one. I behave now though. No more driving when i drink except for my previous story but that doesnt count since i only had a few beers and probably wasnt even over the legal limit.

That technology has been around and in use since the 70's. When a radar gun is in "moving radar" mode it can tell a target vehicle's speed based on the difference between the reflected frequencies from the target object compared to non moving objects that are around it, or can be tied into the vehicle's calibrated speedometer system in some cases. Now with the reliability of GPS, I would assume that is in use as well.

There was a valet in Toronto who took some guys Jag or Porsche out and he got clocked doing 200km/hr in a 100km/hr and the guys car was impounded for a week and he couldn't get it out till the 7 days were up.
