To stop pop ups, you can enter in the web address into the host file (C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc). The path I gave is assuming that C: is where the OS is installed. This allows you to save resources (RAM) because you don't have software always on in the background. Anyway, right click on the pop up and read through the html till you find the address. Then, follow the path I listed above and then right click on hosts and select "open with". If the option for note pad isn't available, then hit browse and select it from the next window. Follow the format that is in the host file. Here is also a little FYI, some spyware, trojans, and viruses will put in the address for the web address where anti spyware, trojans, and viruses software goes to receive updates. This essentially blocks your software from retrieving any current updates (including windows).
