to be totally honest, my girlfriend chose the bike. i came up with a list of the cruisers that i really liked and left the final choice up to her. after all, the main point in buying the cruiser was for the both of us.

by the way, here is a list of the bikes on my short list of acceptable cruisers. honda vtx1800f, yamaha star warrior, suzuki m109r, and victory vegas 8-ball.

GET OUT, GET OUT, GET OUT

Seriously, that's pretty cool that the dealer hooked you up the way he did. Coulda been a lot worse - as you were prepared for. Good luck with that Victory and post a couple pics when ya get a chance.

Well, even if that is what really happened, why would NINE2NINE bother now? The important thing is that he got a great deal, rigth?

NINE2NINE, i'm glad that you find an honest dealer, or aparently honest, at least....

Good luck with your nem bike.

Cheers to all.

well, i just got back from taking the bike back today. and came away with my cashier's check. i could have cleared up this issue yesterday about the dealer screwing me on purpose. they did not. like i said, i was talking to the sales manager/owner mike dreyer. the dealership is dreyer honda. he was just as upset as me (if not worse) and even showed me the paperwork from when they took it in on trade. they even had a photocopy of the title in the condition that they received it (still issued to the guy who traded it in). i believe 100% that they were screwed. just like i was screwed. thankfully they made everything right and i cannot express enough the amount of respect i now have for the owner and the dealership. it's a large dealer (first honda dealer in indiana) and it's very impressive the way that they dealt with this situation. they sales HUGE amounts of bikes (two buildings totalling a whole block) and they still did not overlook the guy (me) who was unhappy with a used bike that was purchased over a year ago. this will always be the dealer that i go to first when wanting to buy a honda motorcycle, scooter, or atv. and i stand firmly behind the statement that i will always refer friends and other potential buyers to this dealer. i am more than happy with the outcome and i honestly feel sorry for the owner and his dealership in having to deal with this situation.

by the way, the owner told me that they do not plan on selling the bike. they will try to resolve the issue and find out who is responsible for this title fraud. after all is said and done, the bike is going to auction. he stated very clearly that no salvage title bikes will be sold through the dealership.

DAMN! Id even consider driving the 400 miles for that kind of honesty! Props on your choice NINE, and the outcome of the issues.
