...then I found out that every person is allowed to check their credit score once a year for free through the gov't...cant remember how to go about it though.
you can get the report free at https://www.annualcreditreport.com (which I've done several times) but they still have a small fee if you want your credit score from all 3.

they also make money by selling you your fico score.[sm=headbang.gif]

Luckily wamu cards gives you your fico every month. Dont need to feed those people anymore money. I wonder how you can create a company that everyone is required to have...

I actually had signed up before and paid for it for about 6-9 months....then I didn't feel like dishing out hte $10/mo for it anymore. I think I have used another before as well. The catch is they try to sell you additional stuff such as the FICO score, and a more 'complete' report for like a $30 fee. The one you get for $10 is only like half the real reports.

I've checked on my score through them once before, but only had the service for a month. Make sure you swipe lots of pens and post-it notes before you head out on your last day!

Hey Thex, I just missed my first payment ever in 18 years --- Oops!!! (I've had this particular credit card for nearly 15years.) What do you think the hit will be to my credit score?

Hahaha, I'm FREE!!! I enjoyed the job, hundreds and hundreds of servers in 3 data centers and all mine to design and deploy.

Bigger, better job starting in 10 days.
