I'm Thinking of a Number....
Know what it is? It's my credit score.....
Sound familiar? Well, tomorrow is my last day as the Lead Engineer for Experian (consumer direct) and freecreditreport.com is *one* of our biggest websites. I couldn't say where I worked before for obvious reasons but now that I resigned I can get it off my chest.
Experian makes nearly half a billion dollars a year selling free credit reports, just from that site (they make a buttload of money at other sites too). I hear that TV commercial everywhere I go, and it's going to haunt me forever. I'm going to a much better place, a place that I don't have to cringe when I hear it mentioned.
Don't get me wrong, that site is totally honest and I will continue to monitor my credit there, it's just so overdone and the commercials SUCK!!!!
Anyone here heard those commercials?

i even know the "number" from that commerical he says - 720.. that's how many times i've heard or seen that commerical (then he got back on the tv and switched out "720" with "over a million people now are doing it")
soo yea....
soo yea....
I'm thinking of a number, and it happens to be 20 million. Thats how many people have recieved their credit score from freecreditreport.com ............ F***. Thanks a lot man!!!! HAha just kidding. So what are you going to do now?
yeah that commercial annoys the **** out of me. You can get your credit score for free by signing up for their monitoring program, and its free for 30 days. If you dont cancel then they charge you. I signed up, checked my score, and immediately called and cancelled haha...then I found out that every person is allowed to check their credit score once a year for free through the gov't...cant remember how to go about it though.
