ALSO: I absoultely love picking up a wrenck and making things work....I've been doing it since i was a little kid (i.e. dad's lawnmover when it wouldnt work, grandma's grandfather clock....you get the pic) and this is why i never buy NEW bikes....not because im cheap....but because i think my bikes respect me for bringing them back from the almost dead....

 

Hmm, this one takes me a minute to think about. The dirt-bike riding I did when I was younger didn't really "do" anything special for me... so then there was a several year lul where I just had cars. I think it started when I got my first convertable... I was just barely getting that "free" feeling. When I got my first bike, I can't describe it correctly in words. I find myself wanting to ride everywhere, I could carpool, but 99% of the time, if I can get to my bike, I'm riding it where ever I'm going. I get home and I can't get my bike off my mind. If I don't have a place to ride, I feel the need to do SOMETHING bike related, like on Monday I spent 3 hours making small adjustments to my rear seat cowl just because it was touching the paint surface in one spot. Nobody would ever see the scratches it was leaving, but I knew it was there. After that, I cleaned and lubed the chain. Tuesday I cleaned the bike and waxed everything (even though it was going to rain the next day and I knew it), Yesterday I disasembled my helmet and washed the padding inside. I can't help it. When I don't have something to do to the bike, I keep trying to come up with stuff.

Everything disapears when I ride. My soul goes to a place it's never been when I'm off the seat. My stress flows from me as I take in the smells, the tastes, the sounds, the entire experience. I was addicted to World of Warcraft... after I got my bike, I could care less about sitting infront of a computer to play the game (I get enough computer action at work). I can't wait for the weekends because it means people will be out and there will be fellow bikers to swap stories with, ideas, and go cruising with. I almost feel like a whole different person. There's so much more to it... I just lack the articulate ability to grasp and potray the true feelings. I'll ride for life till death.

 

Ha! Mid-life crisis. Lol. I love the simple feeling of being alone. I got a wife and four kids. They can't come with me when I am tearing up some twisties. Calming, Zen-like, peaceful chaos.

I ride it because it's like an extention of my *****, kind of like a Hummer, but not as expensive, and easier on gas.

 

Just can't compare to the rush of leaning through a turn and having your wheels in one lane, and your body vertically in the other.

 

I ride a bike because I need something to ride when i'm in my shorts tshirt and sandals! j/k

I ride for many many reasons so I'll make a list.
- Cheap on gas and im a poor college kid so it makes a huge difference
- Cheap insurance for same reason
- Gets me to class and work faster
- I hate driving cars
- I pretty much rode out da womb on 2 wheels, rode bmx forever so motorcycles seems like the natural progression
- Its way cheaper to have an awesome looking/performing bike then an awesome looking/performing car.
- I love feeling like i'm part of the bike, where as with a car I feel like its totally disconnected
- the acceleration

theres probably a ton more i forgot

 

Because, there are times when everything disappears. Even the bike.In those moments, theonly thing that existsare the line through this curveand the entryto the next corner.

i ride because its just an amazing experience. i really cant define it with words. i just love it.
