I ride motorcycles because...
I ride a motorcycle because my car was T boned by a truck that ran away. I was totaled and I always wanted a motorcycle so I bought one with student loans and because I probably couldn't afford a decent car to last thoughout college. Now I ride because its the other vehical I have.
I ride because of the feeling of freedom it presents to me. During a ride its just me and the motorcycle ( wife sometimes too) and the possibilities are endless. To me the reason I ride is like voodoo said you just can't explain if you know what I mean.
Also it does not hurt to get paid to ride on 7 miles of pure sunny Florida coastline even if its a Harley i'm riding lol. So now that biketoberfest is begining its going to be a busy weekend, I guess I'll actually earn my money this weekend. lol
I just hope people use some sense and I don't have to work any fatal accidents this weekend. To me the bike events are the most enjoyable time of the year and death just ruins it for me. So if your coming down here please ride safe.

Solo time in the helmet with an empty road is pretty hard to beat--makes me forget all about the bad decisions I might have made that day...usually.

Oh...forgot to add one more of my reasons.
It's slightly...rebellious..against the old, the feeble and timid weak.
"If you pull up next to a car and hear the door's lock, justify their dim and stereotypical view of the world by snarling at the ocupants."

I ride because once i'm on the road and in my helmet it makes everything around me disappear I sometimes almost feel like its just me the bike and the open roads...And also once I'm done things that would usually bother me don't for that day...it's almost undescribable
it's my therapy... all the crap that goes on during the week... crap at home... crap from work... crap from neighbors dogs... all of it goes away when I'm ridin... if there was a pill I could take that just let me turn my brain off and on like ridin the bike does I'd probly take it too
