I ride motorcycles because...
i ride her because she just wants to preform. shes soo much fun. shes cheap, easy, and fast, what more could you want. i can waste a tank of gas just riding around aimlessly and feel better once im done. i once rode 80mi one way out to the sticks where my mom lived b4 she died. it was 1am when i left, got there and the house you cannot c at night unless a porch light is on. its about a 1/4 mile from the road.... didnt get back till for 3 or 4 hours... went to sleep, best 3 hrs of sleep b4 i had to go to school that morning ever.
and next year the track days await. i was fortunate enough to be able to go on one this year it was the funniest day of my life.

I got my bike to just experience it. A little while later i rode for the adrenaline, the thrill of it. Now that the newness is gone i ride because i feel safer then in my car, plus its a ton of fun.
Sum all of those feelings up!
I feel like she is my wife. Like one of you said, I feel like she is alive. I love taking care of her every free time I have and I love going wherever we want and everyday I wake up to I am trying to sharpen my skills more and more. I simply love it and I just can't explain it. She is my soulmate !

For me, pretty much the same reasons that have already been mentioned. But especially like Voodoo said... it just puts you in that moment of zen that you just can't describe, and other people that don't ride simply don't understand at all. I enjoy the sense of freedom, being all by myself not having to listen to anyone next to me yap my ear off, lol. I love being able to utilize every sence.... the temperature drops and you get cold.... it warms up and you get hot... it starts raining and you get wet, ect. Plus I feel like I can make the bike do anything I want it to, like I'm in complete control (even though I know that can be a dangerous thing if taken too far... I know my limits though and don't push them). I dunno it's hard to describe, so I'll just sum it up all into one statement and say... cuz it makes me freakin happy!
No matter what's going on in my life, it all seems to disappear when I hear that smooth mellow rumble from my Hindle... I'm in heaven! Also works out good to save some $$ on gas, with my 90 mile/day commute and all. And I like being different too, hate being a 'me too'.
I've already successfully convinced most all of my friends, family, and coworker that I am indeed a nutjob, haha. Or at least that's what they tell me. My asst manager at my job is always giving me hell for riding all the time. For awile we were getting rain storms nearly everyday (typical FL summer weather), yet I still rode to work each and everyday. I'd be at work and the weather would start looking shady... she'd walk by and say "you didn't ride your motorcycle today, did you?". I'd say 'of course I did!". She'd shake her head and be like... "WTF is wrong with you? haha". Eventually she said to me.. "you do know that you have a perfectly good running car you could drive on days like this, right? Why do you still ride your bike?". I didn't really know what to say. On one hand I know she does have a point, but on the other hand, she doesn't realize that I just don't care... I wanna ride! I don't mind getting wet, it's just a little water. Now lightning, that's another story! My *** is taking cover when I see lightning, lol. Like I said... it's something only other riders truly understand
