I got mine used on Craigslist from a private seller. I paid $2500 cash.

Dropped cash on it. Saved up a ton of cash living at my parents house, dropped 10k down on my house when I bought that, and got the $8,000 tax credit and used most of that on my bike.

'02 F4i with 4k miles on it. Not even 1 scratch on it.
Paid $4200 just over a year ago.

Monthly payments every now and then can be a good thing as long as you make them on time. It builds your credit rating, which qualifies you for lower interest rates on loans (house) or lower car/motorcycle insurance premiums.

A .99% interest rate is practically no interest anyway. Although I could have paid cash for my '08 1000RR when I bought it new I financed it at 0.9% for three years. It will be paid off by the end of this year. My Equifax credit score is 810.
