Its up to you and if you have a 5K just laying around. I personally did not have that 5k in cash so i had to get a 48 month loan which is 120 a month. I pay more every month on the principle so there is less interest compounded on it. Paying cash lets you have the title in hand so if a better deal comes up you can always trade then and there and then no more payments.

Paid 4500 for my 06 F4i. Spotless with 2.5k miles on the clock.

Took the entire price out of savings. Didn't have enough for a new one, so bought used.

I gave what ever I was able to pay, the deal was it had to be paid off by spring. So it worked out great because I had no interest and no banks to deal with. I also used tim hortons coffee to bribe everyone there for a month or every time I went to the dealer to look at bikes that had not sold yet, then we became friends and now I dont pay taxes when I go there $10 of coffee every saturday for maybe 2 months goes along way.
