Ok, so my first bike was a Kawasaki 250R, and i bought that from selling my 95 civic, and what i earned being a computer repair guy. The Triumph Speed Four i bought from my older brother, and he crashed it at a track day, so he returned me my money for it. The 01 CBR F4i, is $2300, and i gave him a $800 deposit, and the other $1500 i'm giving to him this weekend when i pick it up. That was earned being an intern, and saving up.
On the topic of college loans, well i'm a 4th year college student. There's a lot of abuse and leeway given with these loans. For example we're allowed to use it for college expenses. That's a vague statement that can be interpreted many ways. I know a guy who received an internship through our school, but had no car. So he took out a student loan and purchased a car with it. If you think about it, it's a college expense, and that's what he was allowed to use it for. I know other people that use these loans for groceries, rent, and other living expenses including entertainment. College loans come in many packages, you don't just ask the Gov't for X amount of money, it's whatever your financial aid allows you. The guys i'm talking about took out a Private Student Loan, which is similar to the Staford loans the Gov't gives, but it's through a bank with a very low interest, and deferment.
To OP if you're buying a bike and it's your first, i recommend finding something cheaper, and learning about bikes before getting in to those high end, brand spanking new ones.
Best of luck!
