I try to always ride with full gear minus my riding pants, but I always wear jeans. I have been out a couple of times in the hot weather (100+) with just jeans boots and lid and I enjoyed it, but don't do it that often. Also, I never hit the highway without all my gear.

On the real hot days I almost feel out of place riding with all of my gear on. It seems like nobody wears gear in the 100+ weather. To each their own I guess. You do your thing and I'll do mine!!!!

I think you're an idiot for not wearing (minimum) long pants, a jacket, gloves, and a helmet in whatever weather it is outside. The one car you may hit in your lifetime isnt going to care how hot it is outside. You're a bigger idiot if you own the stuff and dont wear it. "Boo hoo, it is too hot." Then dont ride your bike if you cant take it. If you honestly think you're going to pass out, and you wont, with your gear on then you bought the wrong gear. There is stuff out there that does the job while keeping you cool. Its the morons who go and die without their gear on that make insurance rates higher for the rest of us and give sportbike riders a bad name. You not using your gear is my business.

This topic keeps coming up over and over. Some of you are nuts!!!! The internet is a crazy medium for information. I guess some people think they don't have to worry about wearing gear. Everyone has seen footage of people getting very hurt doing all types of things at all types of speeds. I know how vincible I am even though I ride (like many of us) very responsible or once in a while I get that itch (like many of us) that needs a good scratching. **** HAPPENS! I'd rather sweat than bleed. AZ1000rr I never rode in 115 degree heat. I can't imagine even being on that 2 wheeled furnace! It was 93 today and out in gear. Today if you weren't wearing shorts your the minority. People looking at me like I'm retarded, were asking me if I was hot. No ******* my jacket's air conditioned! If it's over a 100 I probably won't ride. I'm diabetic I don't need the added stress from road rash to compile w/ any other injuries. I'm not a bitchass cause I've been out on sub 30 degree nights. No helmet, no jacket, no jeans(at least), no boots, no gloves no riding!

I'll bite. To me, I got no problem with anyone and their riding attire, nor the person on back, they have a choice to ride or not ride, so if someone wants to hop on the back with their buddie, hey your choice, free will. I ride with a minimum of jeans, helmet, long sleeves and gloves. When I was stationed in Tx, some of the days really sucked with the heat, but I wore a mesh jacket with the liner out and pads in, but I was happy to be riding. As for helmet laws, I think it's natural selection, if you wanna decorate the road in brain-matter-grey, have at it, same for folks that don't want to wear a seat belt, go ahead and exit the windsheild at a high rate of speed. Now...I don't want anyone to get hurt, but folks are going to be stupid when and where they want, regardless of a law or common sense. I have no desire to get in a wreck, open my head on the asphalt, or rebuild my bike. I have fun, don't get me wrong, but maybe I'm an old moo moo and play it safe, but you wont be seeing me in the paper on my own accord any time soon. To each his own.

your head bone is about 1/16 inch thick. how much do you think it would take to break it?having someones kid on the back. the driver should be put in jail and license taken away.

*****! don't you just want to kick idiots like that square in the nuts and say "that doesn't hurt does it?"

As for the topic i personally don't consider someone a squid based on there attire....With the exception to no lid and/or flip flops, cause if you do either of those two I'm sorry but your a complete F***ing idiot. As for the T-shirt or shorts, to each his own i personally would Never hop on my bike and go into traffic without a lid and leg protection. I have only not worn my jacket once out on the busy streets and i felt naked. Imagine though with unprotected legs...Even one of the easiest of crashes(sort of) a Lowside, look at what would get raped without protection YOUR LEGS!!

LOL I have one to add to it, we went to a gas station to get something to drink a while ago and it was looking like rain and the lady behind the counter asked how far from home we were. I told her it was about 50 miles or so, and she replied well you better hurry up and get home it looks like its going to rain soon. My buddy says yeah that will really suck since my windshield wipers are broken. LOL she didn't get it LOL and then she tried rushing us out so we could beat the storm HAHA stupid people. Or when you tell people that your reverse is broken when your backing the bike up and they tell you that you need to get it fixed.

As far as the topic, I don't care what you wear its your personal preference and if some chick gets on the back of your bike with little to nothing on she knows what could happen if something goes wrong but its still your fault if you don't warn her. But I wear my jacket, jeans, helmet, and gloves most of the time. Went out 2 times without my jacket, but had everything else on. But come on guys, do you know how much talent it takes to ride with flip flops LOL j/k
