I was 20 years old and it was before the UK blanket ban on firearms ...I worked in an engineering R&D dept. one of my friends and colleague there was always working on his guns in the workshop ..he used to make these "compensators" for 45s ..he said they helped massively with recoil and kept his groupings better ..he offered to let me try his pride and joy, a heavily customised Colt 45, I must admit it was a beautiful piece of engineering .. all polished stainless, ivory grips and with a quite a long front compensator that made it look real kick *** ... he took me to the range and taught me how to load/unload it, hold it, etc ..put ear defenders on me and glasses ...I aimed and I fired ..OMG!! ..even with the so called compnsator on it took me by surprise the recoil from it ..quite a jolt indeed and fairly exhilariting once I got used to it

i dont know if its been mentioned but the taurus judge is my choice for home or vehicle defense i saw a test on the tv last weekend there was a melon placed on the passenger side outside and the seated driver fired a 410 shot completely destroying a canteloupe. you can't go wrong with a short barrell shotgun it also shoots .45 cal pistol rds. the only drawback ive found is that its a 6 shot revolver, but after 6 shots if their still comming i can get to something else.

After a few weeks practice he said my groupings were really quite good for a novice and I should join up but I have never really been able to get past my dislike of guns in general and I didnt want to make it a hobby or a part of my life ..I dont need a gun where I live, I am not permitted to carry one for defence and I thought my time was better spent elsewhere ..no, I dont like them but I see the attraction ..I am not all about my little pony ..lol

Skip, every judge I have seen or shot is a 5 round. http://www.taurususa.com/products/gu....cfm?series=41do you have a custom cylinder or have they started offering a new cylinder?
