finally happened (ticket, not accident...sorry for the confusion)
after having a perfect record for 8 years, i finally got tagged. CHP officer said i was doing 90 in a 65, which, I'm not sure about (wasn't looking at my speed, just trying to get out of the maze of merging cars as quickly and safely as possible). I'm sure I was speeding...the rr makes hard NOT to. I'm always polite to police officers, and this guy was actually polite to me in return. F'in crazy I tell ya. After it was all said and done, I wasn't even a LITTLE upset. Just gotta suck it up, face the music, and not get caught again.

:hew:: +1 on being glad it wasn't a wreck.
I like you attitude - if you're gonna do the crime gotta be willing to do the time (or pay the fee, in this case) :-)

I don't mind paying for speeding, it's the points on the license I don't like.
See how you like this idea....
Let's say your fine for speeding is $200. I think they should give you the option of paying $400 and you don't get any points on your license. It's obvious the authorities are out to generate revenue...so if you want to speed then you basically pay for the privelege when you get caught. That way you can speed all you want, the cops let you stay on the road by not taking your license away with points against you and they generate even more revenue when you pay up the wazoo to be able to speed.
I'd go for that!
Or you can pay higher fees for higher speed limits...if you want to drive up to 100mph then you pay so much each year, for 130mph, 150mph, etc the price just goes up and up. You'd have a speeders endorsement on your license.
