educational/life question
My father told me years and years ago that if I find a job I like, I'll never work a day in my life. He also told me that if I find a job I love, the money will follow. Being young and full of **** and vinegar, I discarded these pearls of wisdom as "old man talk" because I knew better, right? So here I am, having turned 31 a few weeks ago, and have come to fully understand the weight of his statements.
BA or not, do what you want to do. Granted, you might have to move to do that, but don't give up. However... A liberal arts degree, even an MBA, means that you basically spent a lot of money on schooling for the sake of being in school. While you are more educated than someone who doesn't have any college, you are a master of nothing and would most likey be passed over for someone with an associates that focused on the job you're after. Honestly, the only sure- fire job that I see a liberal arts degree being good towards is the military, and in these tough economic times that you mention, the military offers a steady paycheck, a roof over your head, food in your mouth, and the knowledge that you won't just be fired due to a lack of customers. I'm not trying to recruit you, but unless you're dead set against the military AFTER you have thoroughly researched it, I highly suggest that you give it some thought and time. It's not like what you think, and it's really not all that bad of a deal.
