eBay troubles!
Hopefully the wording in the auction was that buyer pays all shipping charges. If so, then Paypal at least has to allow for the shipping and then the guy has to return the guitar as the eBay puirchase is binding.
As far as I know, here's how a Paypal claim works: Buyer has a limited amount of time to make a claim. When a claim is made, Paypal freezes the funds in the seller's account. In my case, the money had already cleared into my checking account, so now I have a negative Paypal balance. The buyer and the seller are able to argue the case in 1000 characters or less. The case is sent to a Paypal claims person, who reviews the case and rules like a judge. If the claim is found to be in the buyer's favor, his money is returned after the item is shipped back to the seller. If the seller wins, the money is credited back to his Paypal account and the buyer has to keep the item.
The claims process can take up to 30 days. Right now it's just a waiting game.

make sure there has actually been a claim filed, and not just a dispute opened. a dispute is just buyer/seller resolution means, you then have 20 days to escalate it to a paypal claim where they get involved.
