speeding at @85 on freeway limit @ 65
guys, I rode 120 miles trip from Palm Spring to Garden Grove (OC). Last 5 miles near my exit on the 22 Garden Grove freeway, I was going around 80 to 85. When I exit, a high patrol was behind me. He gave me a ticket for speeding, he asked me at what speed I was going (I told him around 80 to 85 and he wrote 85 on the ticket)and he also said that I was passing every vehicle on the freeway (traffic was light). This is my first ticket, what should I do? Anything would help thank you

Bite the bullet man, you earned it. I know how it feels, I just got my first speeding ticket last year (not on my bike though), and there isnt really anything you can do about it. Unless of course you can prove to the judge that you werent speeding...

you admited you were speeding. if it was chp and he was behind you he wouldve had you on radar. you ****ed up so now pay the ticket. i had a sac sheriff say i was doing 85 in a 40 in heavy traffic and when i went to court i told the DA that there was no way i couldve done that (explained why) and she said , " how fast do you think you were going" i told her about 5-10 over (basic speeding ticket) and that was it. all you can do is plead guilty and hopefully take traffic school to get it off your record.

Never, ever, tell the cop how fast you were going. Always respond with "I was watching the road and wasn't paying attention to the speedometer". Sometimes the cop will pull you over because he knows you were speeding but he didn't get you on radar. He is hoping that you will admit to speeding so he can write you a ticket. At that point, you have no way to contest the ticket since you admitted to how fast you were going.

Anyway, you were dumb enough to be speeding, so live with the punishment.
