i'm with tmyers, i've got a friend that went down late summer last year on the skyway between north carolina and tenn., 10 days later i had his bike in my garage starting to rebuild it. 2 months and he was riding again only to get hit front of the mall of ga by some 19 yo punk who took off. we got the bike up and he rode home.

bonus: the kid who hit him told his mom who made him go to the police.

You start dying the minute you are born....riding is just a way to enjoy the time that you have while you're living.

...the stats are fun to read - but way off base. People go to the doctor when they are jacked up, not when they are fine. Ppl ride bikes when they are ok (hopefully). Of course more ppl will die from doctors - they are already messed up before they saw the doc.

A better stat would be percentage of fatalities based on a comparable "accident state." Ie. what percentage of ppl who undergo surgery die from doctors and what percentage of motorcycle accident victims die.
