Dizzie, I don't know how you could have a problem with what RTB said. I think it's pretty damn reasonable. It sounds like you're basically saying the same thing that he is. Read his post a little more carefully, maybe.

 

They would if he did it on a public road, but he didn't...at least when he became a public figure. He preached safety constantly.

 

and that was my point, he did stunts and endangered himself everytime, no one else, just himself, so it wouldnt be reasonable to call him an *******, personality aside.

 

dude it seems to me like alot of people bitch about wheelies because they dont wanna be "in the same category" even tho they ride a sportbike. hey guess what, you paid good money for that bike knowing the stigma attatched to it. its just as bad for harleys, everyone thinks ducati riders are ******, everyone thinks bmw riders are ******, i can go on for days if you wanna worry about bein stereotyped because of what other people do on similar machines. get the hell over it. for real tho, every group on earth is strereotyped, white black yellow red, jewish, jesus as long as you know its not you being a dumbass who cares what other people think? this isnt high school. some dumbass lady in a minivan next to u at a stoplight thinks that youre a stunter, but youre not? who gives a flying fuuuck. hell it might even turn her on if u walk it for a lil.
for real tho if u dont want people doin wheelies cause it makes YOU look bad, then youre just as bad as whoevers doin it. someone who does it, even tho i suck, i love that ****, not on the streets just cause ill probably loop out like i always do and im not gonna risk that on the road yet. everytime you turn that key you know the risk youre about to take, so does the kid ridin a wheelie, and i can promise ya, someone riding a bp wheelie at 65 knows what the **** they are doing and they have total control over that bike, someone doin a pow pow from 65-145 probably not so much. grow some ***** ppl, screw what the general public thinks theyre all idiots anyway.....

we were not really discussing whether or not we cared of the stereotypes we have, more or less why we have that stereotype. if i dont want people doing wheelies on public streets, that doesnt mean i am just as bad as them, where is the sense in that? i dont want to be grouped (by cops or anyone) as someone who will be pulling wheelies on public roads and/or running from them. you know why? b/c i dont do either of those. and i dont want to be profiled, pulled over guns drawn, license and insurance checked since most riders have neither, and then asked a million questions b/c the last guy they tried to pull over ran from them.

and how can you promise me that someone doing a wheelie at 65 mph knows what they are doing? a lot of people that try them are new to riding in general, much less stunting. pro or not, the street is not the place for it.

 

I'd run from the cops if my bike had wings that popped out and it could fly....

now as for the wheelie, if your riding at bp at 65 mph youve practiced enough to know what you are doin, that **** is not easy.
