clearwater, fl...just west of tampa. oh, and from what i here evel kneivel is an ******* lol...not from what he has done, but he is just an *******.
his personality was not in question, i cant say whether he was or not, nor does it apply. i meant based off his actions (performing stunts)how can he be judged as one.
me calling him an ******* for his personality is a joke. i said that he isnt an ******* from what he has done...stunts. People around here call us idiots for riding...whether stunting or not. But from your statement about the difference between an ******* and idiot are, i just asumed they meant to call us ******** since we ride knowin that we can get hurt regardless of what we do. Hence, they think that we are ******** by your definition, though they might just use a different word to describe us as such.
yeah, i got you, i knew what you meant. i was clarifying.

what that saying really means is that you have 2 people, an idiot and an *******. the ******* will cut you off b/c he doesnt care (hes an *******) and the idiot will do it b/c he does not know any better, b/c he is an idiot.

it just doesnt make sense, like someone saying, dammit, their goes one of those minivans, that bastard, hes an *******, friggin mini van driving sob! as opposed to,there goes one of those sportbikes, kids always speeding, driving crazy and doing those whoolies. see what im getting at?

I hate people trying to preach to me about how motorcycles are not safe, as if I didn't already know. The whole reason why peopleride motorcycles in the first place is because they aren't safe. Its just like rock climbing or sky diving or any extreme sport. If there wasn't a possibility of serious injury or death then riding a motorcycle would be as boring as taking a dump and all we would have to worry about is straining to hard and blowin an O-ring.
I'm not the kind of person that goes speeding thru traffic or doing wheelies on the highway, but I ride my bike for the thrill of it. Everyone I know that doesn't ride asks me something like why do I risk my life just to ride a motorcycle, and the short answer is because I'd rather live for 25 or 30 years then wait 70 years to die.

so like an "I refuse to tip toe through life only to arrive safely at death" approach?

just remember...you don't need to ride recklessly to have a thrill...and if you want the thrill, there are always places to take that thrill, like the track, etc...i used to think twists were fine, but dude...now with so many idiots, i'm afraid of oncoming idiot crossing the center line and into me now.

yea I don't have a death wish or anything like that and I only ride aggressively when theres not many people around. I live to take risks, but not stupid risks. For me theres no satisfaction in doing dumb ****, especially when it can put other people around me at risk. And I especially don't like showing off or people that do things for the sole purpose of showing off. I do everything for me. Besides, the people that don't ride and think your cool **** doing a wheelie thing your just as cool if you have a street bike in the first place.

Today its easier to blame others for your own faults. Most do not want to be held accountable for thier own action. In my line of work its always someone elses fault, not the suspects, or some how my fault. I've been through intense training and train every day and still do not push my limits like some choose to. I would actaully like to see states institute a mandatory motorcycle safety and riding course to teach and reenforce the basics (head and eyes, accident avoidence, emergency braking, etc) Most accidents that I work involving other motorcyclist are very avoidable. Some people feel that because they can ride a wheelie at 90 mph for a mile, have a motorcycle that has 200 hp and can do 200 mph, etc that they know how to ride a motorcycle. We are all accountable for insuraning that each has the knowledge of the basics as well as knowing how to rip the twisties and do triple digits.
I have paper work some where about traffic accidents involving motorcycles. I don't remember the exact number but it was something like almost 50% were not the motorcycles fault, 25% could have been avoided with proper braking and accident avoidence training, and something like 14% of the motorcycles did not react to the threat or hazard, paniced. I believe that motocycles are accountable for all aspects of riding.
I've read and heard alot about cops in this post and other posts. Most do not see all sportbikers as dumbasses that only stunt and run at 100 + mph. There are different types of people in every crowd and not all are the same. Most of the motorcycle that I stop for high speeds are actually Harleys and other cruisers and for the most part very few sportbikes. Most of the motorcycles that run are sportbikes though. Pretty much to each his own, stuntings cool and I rarely act on stunters if they are in a back lot or subdevelopment thats being built with not residences in the area. Some cops are dicks what can I say but don't punish us all for the actions of a few because most of us do not punish you due to the actions of a few.

Buuuuuuuuulllllllllllllll Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiittttttttttttttttttttttt!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Come on now, u know that aint tru. Maybe not all, but there are cops out there that when they have a bad day they take it out on people, and u know it. Why we lump u into the same category as them is cause u wear the same uniform. Jus like with bike riders. An average person sees a guy on a sportsbike and they automatically think of somebody speeding or poppin a wheelie. People judge a book by the cover way before they even open the first page homie...thats just the sad truth.

Is that not what I said in saying that some cops are dicks. what part of that was or is bull ****? If an average person sees a guy on a sport bike as speeding and popping wheelies would this mean that the average person thinks that every guy that rides a cruiser is a hells angel. I really don't think the image of sportbikes is that bad.
I'm my experience guys that ride sport bikes know when they are wrong and are the easiest to deal with.
