I ancient fossil. My first advice is...don't take my advice! You come across as an open, honest and caring young man. You say her boyfriend is a douche-bag. To get the girl, you would have to be a douche-bag, and none of us wants that. Perhaps you might consider re-evaluating your feelings for her, based on this observation. Generally speaking, this is a rite-of-passage to manhood. All men have gone through this same thing, and the good that comes from the experience is being able to say you have paid your dues.
