sounds to me like you are riding with the wrong people, start riding with sane ones, and then you wont feel so out of place. sounds like you are comfortable with riding "spirited" but not "squidly" which is the way it should be anyway.

The 3 guys that came behind you were not in your group the way I read it, correct? Do what is comfortable for you. If the group you ride with is ok waiting for you to catch up or ok following you at your pace then great. If not, then I would not ride with them.

hey I know that feeling.... some people get over stuff like this faster than others.... I had an accident where the guy in front of me got killed...
that was New Years Eve of 05... left our meeting place at 9am he was gone by 9:30am.... I still suffer a little due to it... my chicken strips are more like chicken breasts.... riding using a lot of mental ability.. and In my opinion its best not to push it. give it time it'll come back.... if it was not for other incidents I would had recovered a bit faster I think but I quit riding hard all together.

Well last year with my f3 i would have been dusting these guys before i crashed
I'm not sure its a confidence thing, what you had when you crashed was a dose of reality, me thinks your subconcience is telling you its time to SLOW down a bit any ways thats my 2cents
Well psychoj, simply put you rode faster than your abilities and you crashed. You want to ride faster than your abilities and you will crash again. Maybe you have to be realistic and say to yourself, 'I ain't the best rider in my group' and maybe you won't crash.

Next to most guys I ride with, I am the slowest. But my girlfriend is twis asF**king HOT as theirs and I own the biggest house so I don't worry about, besides, they have to wait for me at the end of the road anyway.

Put your ego away and enjoy the ride, if you want to go faster, go for some training.

First things first.... don't go faster. I agree with the "spirited" and "squidly" analysis. If you're out riding, your intention is to come home safe and without a broken bike. I do spirited riding but it is comfortable for me and I don't pass 5 over. Staying within the law is an important part of any ride because you do not want to ruin your ride with a ticket. Your confidence should only return on a track. You had a reality check and you have obviously developed an appropriate fear from it. Be safe and ride at your own pace!
