I don't see the problem with that. . .so long as she gets her own bike. Half the people in my MSF class had never ridden clutch, and the vast majority of them passed after only the two days of riding.

To answer the question: I have a pair of people I'd lend my bike to. They've both been riding for FAR longer than I have, and I ride with them all the time, so I know exactly how responsible they are on the things. They've both lent me theirs when mine was "in the shop," and I have no problem returning the favor.

Seeing how my "significant other" just bought my new bike, I'd have to amend my own reply... with caveats...

I'd let her solo it. After she had a license and rode a 250 without incident for 2 years & 10k miles

If someone let me hold the the book value in cash for my bike along with his girl, then i might consider it!

Like the friend of mine with the Lotus says when people ask him to take it for a spin:
"Sure, I'll just need a $60,000 refundable deposit. You wreck it, You bought it."

Now if you want a ride in the Lotus with him in the drivers seat, that's free.(and pretty awesome)

Not a fan of letting others even sit on my bike let alone ride it. Givin his track record he would have a better chance with my girl friend than riding my bike

First time I ever rode a motorcycle, it belonged to a friend of a friend of a friend and he only owned it for a week. I thought he was nuts, but I sure enjoyed it.

Personally, it depends on how well I know someone and trust them. I've let two coworkers ride mine (one of them just down the street and back). A third keeps saying he wants to learn how to ride a motorcycle so he can try mine out, but I don't think I'd ever let him.

No one.

One person rides my bike. Me.

End of story.
