Well, turned out a company has a local listing of nice places to eat, visit, and small stuff like that. Kinda like a local yellow pages.. Well we called them up telling them about what happened and warned them about they have a thief listed on their site. Turns out the man that responded is the son of the electrical license checker or w/e. (The guy that goes around and checks on people's skills every one in awhile to make sure they're up to par on codes.) The son told us he'd be willing to take Derrick to small claims court if need be. Also told us that he could talk with his dad (the license checker) and have Derrick's electrical license pulled! We finally heard back from Derrick saying he got shipped outta town for several weeks on a job.. But what confuses me is that the last log in date on here has not changed from when i 'bought' the muffler but his Myspace has been logged on while he was 'out of town'.. Fishy to me.. He said he'd pay me back once he got paid on Friday July 3.. No payment yet.. Maybe he got paid w/ a check and hasn't been able to slip it into PayPal yet cuz of the banks closing on the 4th.. We'll see tomorrow i guess. I'll post up whatever happens! He seems like an okay guy..maybe this all did happen on accident? Or maybe when we 'turned up the heat' he came out of his hiding place?

I seriously doubt thats the case. If he were a decent guy, he would have made an attept to contact you and let you know whats up. There's no excuse in the world that would explain why he couldnt contact you, especially since he had internet where ever he was "sent". not to mention, he should have had the exhaust ready to send as soon as he had the money. He had time to pull the money, how hard would it have been to send a package in his "busy" world? How hard would it have been to send you an email?
And whats the deal now? he doesnt have the muffler anymore so he is going to send you the money back?

THe biggest thing you need to remember at this point is not to be guility of slander, or you may be subject to a lawsuit. When contacting the business folks or licencing guy, always state thre facts and refrain from name calling.

Be careful you don't cross the line into extortion. Being the victim of a crime does not give you full reign to commit whatever crimes you want in the course of settling your matter.

Yeah I know. I was jk but yeah, thanks Nice pic CBRclassic! And this is all very true.. He promised he'd have it shipped out the first of the next week (i think i bought it on a Fri).. Now i just told him I want my money back. He was trying to still send me the exhaust but i just want my money and to get away from this guy..

And cman9toes, i know what you mean.. But in this case, i have him dead to right. Even if they do take me to court, it would be just a huge waste for them. Plus the son i talked to was very polite and suggested we talk to his dad.. We mainly called him to find more info on Derrick but we ended up telling the whole thing and he took our side.
