Haha Yeah, too many people think it's too big of a deal to track them down, but when you have such great friends to help you out (you all) it makes it so easy! Almost too easy

I bought some stuff off the bay, and with a little work (her email was an Abrevation), I found out the email stood for the Elementry school she worked at, and that she was the teacher of the year no less. A call to the school and leaving polite a message with the front office got me a quick refund.

Hope the same happens for you.

If he trasfers the money from PayPal to his bank, then closes his bank account, payPal can't get the money back from him, and will not give you YOUR money back. I've had that happen to me as well.

Glad you made some progress, but the locals aren't going to do anything about it. Its an interstate issue, so the FBI has to deal with it, and $175 falls under "small claims," so they won't. You'd have to get a lawyer, and have him file a subpoena in Federal court, and one of you would have to do some driving.

The upside is generally these people freak out and send you a check when you call their house personally.

How? You get a hold of him? I'm curious to hear the details.
