yeah, i have seen lots of bikes on ebay and other *FREE* classified ad places. for some reason they always come back saying they just moved to hungary or london. and they are going to pay shipping. i have never had someone pay shipping for anything i bought on ebay, much less $500+ to ship a bike across seas. they also always try to include too much detail in reassuring you on how good of a deal you are getting, not to mention their whole life story or why they moved across seas. i wouldnt buy a bike unless i have been able to sit on it.

that guys right, if a deal seems too good to be true, i guarantee it is. especially online.

I was so close to falling for this on a new car purchase a while back. I wised up and now I always mess with these guys. They need to come up with a new scam, or just die.

I wonder if this is all from the same guy. He has the same odd spelling and grammar in every e-mail. I'm sure a linguist could analyze his grammar and tell what country he is from.

When I was selling my bike I had many scamers try to scam me out of it. They would say things like I will send you a money order for this much and you take it to you're bank and cash it. Then when the shipping company comes to pick it up, You (I) pay them. I told one guy he was cold busted and told him to give me some info about himself, well I never got that info or a reply email.
Then the final one was she was somewhere overseas and he son had just gotten out of boot camp. She wanted to buy it for her son, I said cool send me money orders for X amount. She sends them to me for double that amount! We went back and forth about how that wasn't the deal, blah, blah....
so then she says well just cash them and send the money to my son for me. Well I don't think I need to say anything more cause that right there should be sending up red flags to everyone.
Thanks for the link, and I hope no here gets caught up in that crap.
