$1778.98 for just 2 parts of a Computer.
i have the same mouse and speakers as u, or u used to have. When i hit the jackpot i am ganna buy me one of those Xtream gaming pc`s.
Years ago I paid $1700 for a 286 with 4 megs of ram, and a 67 MB hard drive with a 512k sVGA card and two floppy drives. At that time 386 systems were going for $4k to$8k.....
My how things have changed.......

Ok, if you want my advice, get something ALOT cheaper, in two years, the parts you're looking at will beworth less than half of what they're worth now.I spent $1450 on my whole computer, including everything but the keyboard and mouse. The only game i've found that i cant play full GFX on is Everquest 2. That was expected tho because they made it so that as the computers upgrade, people could turn up the graphics. I have a 19" LCDmoniter, 2.2ghrz AM2 socket processer(newest AMD, will support all the newer processers for a good while)2 gb of ram, zhalman heatsync, asus motherboard capeable of 8gb of ram and vista ready. My graphics card is 256mb, andI forget how many pixel pipelines (i wanna say 8?)and all that good stuff it is, but its reallynice, i think its the 7600 or 7800 XFX Nvidia.Yes, myGFX is capeable ofdual moniters, andI run one LCD and one old CRT moniter just incase i'm playing a FPS intenseive game. Even if you're playing new age games, those partsare way overkill, spend 1/2 the money now, thenin like 2 years, upgrade ur gfx card andCPU to something thats even better than what you're looking atnow... butyou'll be spending like half the price.Andif you'regoing to be running that kind ofgfx card, please do yourself a favor and buy a moniter with a refresh rate of85hrz and 1ms response time.Refresh rate(75 or 85hrz)is how fast the computercompletely redraws the image, response time(1-8ms) is how fast itchanges the picture. If you have a slow response timethey have whatthey call shading, when the models move, it leaves a black trail behind the model and itsannoying. If you havea slow refresh rate, you'llnotice screen tearing on the faster FPS games, its kindof likehow theoldTV's would spin, or if youstand back and buzz your lips infront ofur moniter, yeah, its annoying. Please, PM me and i'llhook you up with exactly what you need. I couldprobably buildpeople computers for a living =D.I've already built a few computers, including my own. Dont worry, i'll hook you up with an awesome computer for whatever price range ur looking at. Hell, i'll even shop around and find the better deals for you if i can.
well i would never buy something electronic that just came out - just look at nextag.com and you will see everything drops in price in a matter of months... Another thing is if you can get a nice discount if you own your own business. I get alot of discounts for having a business lic.
i'm waiting till This Fall or Winter before I build a home-computer again.. This will give it enough time to find the right video card for a tri-screen setup with quad-core (maybe octi if the price is not to steep) already Dell is advertising a quad core with over-clocking capablities. The max performance of this computer is to run Huxley (look it up) - that's all i want it for.. Also the tri-screens is for day trading but you wont need two video cards and quad core for something so simple.
Dont let a hot new item burn a hole in your pocket - save up all the money at once and just build a computer at the time - I foundout just upgrading piece by piece really didn't suffice me.
also oldfatguy - i envy you... even tho i got a 32' tv screen for my laptop monitor - your looks more crisp then mine (plus my laptop puts out 1920x1200 and my tv will only do 1600x1400)
just a couple of things -put the ATI box in a closest and try to hide the wires (god your setup would look sweet if it wasnt for the wires hanging about) [:@]
