Newbie with question!!
Hey guys!
New here from Minnesota. Been lerking around reading and finally decided to join. I have been around drit bikes all my life and decided its time for a sport bike. I really like the CBR F2,3, or 4.
Im looking to get the 600 because Im only 5'11", 145 lbs, so its plenty for me.
Does anyone have any tips/comments? Better suggestion for a starter bike? What kind of things should I look for and ask when looking at a bike? I was thinking about an early 90's since I only want to spend about 2K for a starter (and Im a college student ) What is high milage for a sport bike, as I have only had drit bikes and there is no odometer! Anyone know of any bikes for sale around my area, I have looked at the local paper and a trader, but nothing really.
Any input would be greatly appreciated

RE: Newbie with question!!
Welcome to the site man..
F2 is the best bet, and a good starter.. You can find them in the price range u are looking for. I have seen them around actually, and some in really good condition as well. Try to find someone as low a mileage as you can. I would say something around 30,000 or less would be a good find, but something that age isn't easy to find, but IS possible. You havn't had much sportbike experience, its quite a bit different than dirtbikes!!! I know, cuz I was the same as you! Take the MSF course for sure, and take your time getting to know your bike. If u can find some old GS500e's they are also excellent starter bikes and are a lot of fun. Cheap is a keyword!!!! Drop the sportbike and the fairings will costs you a small fortune! GS500e's have no fairings, still look cool are cheap to operate and are fun fun fun. If u can find a descent priced SV650, not a bad option either.. But careful with the throttle, she's a torque monster!
Good luck with what ya find!!! Keep us posted.
