New to the bike world.. a Q
Well about the throttle control we were going to remove soem of the tube every few days to give me a bit more, but it would always be short enough tht I can still get up to highway speeds. It was going to be a 'just in case' or pretty much something to make me feel safer. I dont want to accidently wind it out. At the end of a month or so we were going to remove it completely. Just have it on there for the first week pretty much for the airport training.
Take the MSF - you WON'T regret it and it could save your life. It's fun, too! I'm not wild about the throttle control, but if it works for you, so be it. Learning to ride and control the bike is all about practice. The more you put in, the more you get out.
I haven't ridden an F3, but had an f4i and loved it. I put over 10,000 miles on it last year. Even if the F3 is a little heavier, these bikes are pretty balanced and they are also pretty forging for a new rider. I started out on a '97 Katana, which washeavy (425ish lbs), butits biggest problem was it was very top heavy. Ilooked up the '95 specs and it shows to weigh 407 lbs.I'm only 5'3", so I have no doubt you can handle it.
Steering dampner? Unless you are planning on hitting the twisties or the track, you shouldn't need one of these. The most common time to get wabble is hitting the throttle very aggressively coming out of a corner, making the frontend bounce around. With the extra weight of the F3 and taking into consideration you are a new rider,in my opinion this shouldn't be at the top of the priority list.
