Default New to the bike world

Hey guys. I just got my first bike about a week ago, and figured I should join myself to some kind of forum so I can get all the pointers I can get.

I bought a 2005 CBR600RR. So far I love the bike. It's practically mint condition. 6,200 miles. Slip on Yoshimura exahust and fender eliminator kit. Everything else is pretty much stock.

I received a second set of plastics with the bike that are red/black and I am going to change them out this weekend. I was hoping I could get a little advice on how to do this. My friend did this on his bike, and it took him like 4 hours just to change the front cowl and the side fairing, and I'm hoping there is a quicker way to do it.

I will be on the forums here quite a bit as I jump into the bike world. Thanks for any help guys!

Welcome to the forum
Next, go to
Stephy G's CBR F4i Page and download a workshop manual for your bike.
Enjoy what we have to offer.

hey! welcome! I recently joined the forums too. I love this place hehe

Anyways I'm pretty jealous I wanted a RR but a F4i is just as awesome i realized when i bought the bike and rode it hehehehe. But yeah, the owners manual is probably your best friend for things like that, or so i'm told. They have a step by step guide to taking off and putting on fairings!

Here's what I got. What do you guys think?

The plastics will be changed to red/black this weekend and I'll be selling the plastics on the bike soon after. They are all in mint condition and have only been on the bike for about 500 miles. Let me know if anyone is interested.

Really nice bike. I suggest you get yourself a shop manual. You can download them; but I just love having an actual book that I can thumb through, drool on, and get grease all over. I might also suggest using a light touch on the fasteners. It is not too difficult to crack the plastic by over-tightening the fasteners. Snug works well. Gorilla strength equals heartache. lol
