New bike owner, few Q's
Hello, my name is Sean. I recently picked up a 1990 cbr1000f builder bike. It supposedly runs, but quit running becuase it no longer has spark, so i need to figure out why there isnt any spark.
Anyways, this is my first bike, (I'm 21) not new to the whole two wheel thing tho, i grew up riding dirtbikes, and have a pretty good idea of what i am doing when i hop on a street bike.
on to the questions.
First off, where is a good place you all would suggest i go for riding gear? I live in Seattle area washington if that helps.
Also. as i stated above, its a builder in the sense that i need almost all of the farings... i also need the part above the cluster that has all the warning lights etc. so if anyone knows of a good place , or is selling those items, please let me know.
And finally, i could have sworn that there was a classifieds section for the 1000f sub forum, where did it go? lol
Anyways, here's a picture of the bike. (it came with 87 farings and parts bike)

Welcome to the CBR Forum Sean,
And congratulations on getting your bike. The CBR1000F is a solid old girl that it usually takes a huge and totally dedicated effort to kill.
Ask any questions you need - and it seems you need to find out why she's producing no spark for a start. We're here to help. Drop into the Hurricane Saloon, get yourself a virtual pint and chat to the guys there. They have a huge amount of experience and between us should be able to help you get your project moving.
Cheers, SB

Welcome aboard, Sean. Be sure and look into taking a Motorcycle Safety Foundation course in your area, especially if you're new to riding on the streets. Lots of good skills are taught that can potentially save your hide.
I took it a few years ago, even though I started riding on the streets decades ago. Well worth it.

welcome to CBRF, sean! enjoy building your bike, but the 3 best sources for buying parts are 1)ebay 2)craigslist 3)CBRforum
as far as riding gear, online is much cheaper, but at least try certain stuff on at the store so you can make sure it's a good fit first.
