New. Been on klr650 too long and set on a cbr. Help info for first real bike?
Ey, so I’ve been riding for 5-6 years on my ‘pig’ klr650 dual sport )
Been pretty set on a 07-08 cbr600rr. Know it’s all relative as far as choosing a bike... I’ll admit that the sexy appeal /look of bike is important to me. My second choice might be an r6 or r1. Sat on a new r1 and it seemed to feel good.. I’m used to riding a very heavy underpowered tall dirt bike. Never really ridden a sport bike, so sitting on them they feel so small and light. How important is the way it feels just sitting in position? Besides the obvious difference in power, torque, top speed what is there to consider? In my mind a heavier bike would feel more stable at high /highway speeds and 600/ lighter more agile and quicker to respond to lean, wind, bumps and dips maybe? I’m just thinking out loud. I’ve watched many a YouTube regarding such.
Has anyone learned anything from experience you feel like sharing as far as consideration of factors regarding stepping out on a first sport bike?
If I had a license maybe I might have possibility of test riding. Which seems like it would be way different than testing a car. I know for example find one on Craigslist hand guy cash and test ride but doesn’t seem like I’d want to go around doing that with a bunch of diff bikes. But maybe that would be smart. Idk dudes. Just thought I’d see if anyone felt like sharing. I just sat on a 13’ Ducati 848 and it felt so right. I’m trying to get the best bike for me for around 5-6k... also understand high miles on used bikes varies for example 10k on a cbr is better than 10k miles on a gsxr? Cbr can go forever? One of the attractive factors for me .. but again I know it’s all relative...
End ramble
