Hey Googler - this topic is always highly debated (and you can probably find some good articles with the search function to give you HOURS of reading)

I myself started out on a 600 F4i (the same bike I currently have).
and think that was a good place for me to start.

F4i's are popular for starters, but I would certainly avoid a 1000rr (i'm assuming you meant 1000 not 100).

Maybe a cheaper Ninja 500 or 250R if you want to go on the smaller side. I would say a 600 F4i could be good.

No matter what you do make sure to take the MSF safety class and BE SAFE!

Welcome to the site as well!

Hi Oscar, welcome to the forum. Whenever I'm asked this question, and sometimes when I wasn't, my advice is to start with a dirt bike first. All the skills you pick up don't necessarily cross directly to the street but you do learn the basics without trying to learn how to dodge traffic at the same time. I'm not talking about full on motocross riding, I'm talking about just basic trail riding. You can find a POS trail bike for cheap and have a blast learning how to ride, then sell it and get a street bike and learn how to survive against all the idiots that are trying to run over you. Once you learn how to ride, I'd still advise against starting with anything bigger than a 600. Just my opinion.

I agree on the dirtbike route if it's possible. It will teach you clutch control and get you familiar with bikes in general. Plus, it doesn't hurt quite as bad to fall on your azz in the dirt. lol..
